### Position Information
## Job Description
The Compensation Board is seeking an experienced individual to provide administrative and analytical support to the agency's board, management and staff. Incumbent will be responsible for a number of diverse administrative functions including: support of the board in its monthly meetings, creating meeting dockets and keeping and posting meeting minutes; maintaining agency planning schedules; coordinating staff travel arrangements; maintaining policy and project files; coordinating agency responses under FOIA; coordinating conflict of interest reporting; liaison with Human Resources officer for basic HR functions and agency leave coordination; and coordinator of agency records maintenance. Duties include some backup fiscal duties. Incumbent will also have responsibility for coordinating and administering agency-sponsored annual training events conducted for the support of external customer groups. Coordination activities include planning, negotiating and monitoring site contracts and arrangements, scheduling speakers, preparing documentation, and organizing materials. Incumbent will display strong organizational skills and maintain a professional decorum with all internal and external contacts.
## Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience in administrative duties associated with support of upper-level management and/or boards and committees; experience handling sensitive or confidential documents and information. Experience or knowledge of event planning and/or training coordination activities. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing required. Working experience preparing documents and reports utilizing Word and Excel software applications is required. High school diploma or GED required.
## Preferred Qualifications
An Associate or Bachelors degree in office, business, or public administration, or a combination of education and experience, preferred. Working experience or knowledge of government records management, FOIA responsibilities, and COIA requirements preferred. Experience handling basic human resources functions and leave accounting preferred. Experience handling fiscal transactions in the Cardinal accounting system preferred. Working experience preparing reports and presentations utilizing PowerPoint presentation software is preferred.
## Special Requirements
Some overnight travel may be required. Valid Virginia motor vehicle operator's license required. A Virginia State Police criminal records check will be conducted upon employment.
